The Thief series pioneered a stealth system which has become hugely influential to games as diverse as Splinter Cell and Assassin's Creed. Following on from the original, Thief 2: The Metal Age brings a host of improvements while maintaining the unique dark world. Players are pitted against a range of enemies across levels with advanced weapons and gadgets, creating a realistic feeling of being hopelessly outgunned. While the graphics are better than the original they now feel basic and outdated. The gameplay remains strong, however, with many considering Thief 2: The Metal Age to be the pinnacle of stealth games. Garrett must fight the lawful powers to save the City and its criminal gangs from extinction with sneaky tools.
